THE BONITO REGION

The city of Bonito is located in the southwest of Mato Grosso do Sul State, at 280 km away from its capital, Campo Grande. With a population estimated in 18.000 inhabitants, it is a typical countryside city with an exuberant nature.

Distributed around the city (not farther than 60 km), there are several crystalline water rivers, waterfalls and caves that makes Bonito one of the best ecotourism destiny in Brazil. Since the early 90's, Bonito is prepared to receive the tourist with maximum quality and attention.
The ecological conscience comes from the necessity of preserving the natural beautifulness of the region. In each visiting place there are a limited number of visitors per day which are controlled in such a way that the visiting groups are dispersed during the day.
Located in the savannah region, with an average altitude of 350m, its landscape is composed of small mountain covered by a dense wood intermixed with pasture.

Attractions to visitors are situated in particular farms. Tours are organized by the local Tourism Agency and each visiting group has to be accompanied by a Tourist Guide approved by the Brazilian Tourism Enterprise (Embratur).

In Bonito, visitor’s activities are diversified and attend all types of visiting people including those that like adventures and those that prefer the contemplative visiting. This region provides all types of entertainment such as floating, waterfalls, caves, cavalcade, boat, rappel, arborismo (walking between trees), diving, watering place, etc. Besides, Bonito offers to its visitors good restaurants, pizza's houses and snack's bars.

Both, the new Airport and the new Convention Center places Bonito in the route of the big national and international events.
